JetSmart is a Santiago-based low-cost airline, applied to the Chilean Civil Aviation Authority in January 2017 for an air operator certificate, which it received later that year. JetSmart started flying from Santiago to Calama, Chile, in July 2017. JA airlines have long-term intentions to fly to a variety of South American destinations. Indigo Partners owns two South American airlines, one of which being JetSmart.
From Santiago International Airport, it is also known as Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport. JetSmart has a fleet of 12 aircraft that serves eight international destinations in Argentina, Brazil, and Peru, as well as ten local locations in Chile. JetSmart also has three international routes to Argentina, one of which was started in late 2018 and one of which was launched in early 2018.
